On the 28th of November, I had the privilege of attending the Black Coffee Foundation Conference, an event that provided both industry insight and opportunities for networking. It was one of those masterclass-style conferences where a lineup of impressive panelists shared valuable information—information that many of us could easily find online, but still, there was something distinct about the way these experts shared their knowledge in real-time.
Though much of the content wasn’t exactly groundbreaking in terms of exclusivity, Black Coffee himself made a profound impact on the audience. The global DJ and philanthropist took the stage to discuss mental health in the entertainment industry—a topic that doesn’t always get the attention it deserves. He eloquently highlighted the struggles many face behind the glitz and glamour, and his call for better mental health practices in the industry struck a deep chord with many including myself. His candid perspective is an example of how artists can use their platforms not just for entertainment but for advocacy as well.
The event was a great opportunity for networking, and I hope that everyone who attended made the most of this chance to connect with like-minded individuals, entrepreneurs, and creatives. Ultimately, the Black Coffee Foundation Conference reminded me that while the internet gives us access to much of this information, there’s still something special about experiencing it live, in person, and with those who truly care about these issues. I look forward to more events like this in the future.
